Tim Seymour Rocks

Yeah yeah this blog is not about stocks, but well, who isn't interested in shares at some point or the other? If you aren't investing them yourself, and trust someone else to handle your money matters, good for you, ignore this post.

For those like me that try to dabble in everything and think men aren't just work machines and the concept of a career doesn't sink in too well, you are into stocks then, aren't you?

I've been following CNBC Fast Money and Mad Money (BOOYAH Cramer!) shows for some time now - about a year I'd say give or take, more because they are fun and keep me abreast of our economy which I like to do. But also for stock picks. I started a VERY conservative investor, reading books about value investments, buy and hold, Etc., but man, is trading addictive! I made 5 trades in the last week alone and luckily, all but one paid off (some more than 10%!) THANKS TO TIM SEYMOUR!!

After a year of research into TV people, newsletters, books, Etc., I can tell you here's my ranking of the best "Stock Pickers" out there on TV, especially on CNBC. I've worked very hard to form these opinions. And being that I am not a pro myself and know very little about trading or investing, my strategy is to spend time analyzing the pros and tracking their picks and evaluating their success. Think about it, if you know one dude that always picks the best stocks, it's even better than knowing how to pick stocks yourself!

So here you, here's my rankings:

1. Tim Seymour

2. Jim Cramer (more for the breadth of his knowledge and general market momentum. He tends to be too bullish on too many stocks in general, but he does pick GREAT stocks regularly if you are OK holding them for a while.)

3. Joe Terranova

Karen Finerman is awesome several times. I like the "simplicity" of her picks. She doesn't over-analyze like I tend to do and it's a pleasure to follow her picks because it makes me feel like I get why she picks her stocks. But she does go terribly wrong sometimes, like today, her Rapid Recap pick was American Eagle, which dropped 6% in 1 day. Never happens with Seymour's picks - at least not that I've noticed. Finerman is bullish long-term on BAC (Bank of America) as of now - April 7, 2010, and I think that's a great pick that I am going in for. I'd be careful about picks from Guy Adami, Jon & Pete Najarian and Gary Keminsky's picks. They are GREAT sometimes and totally off other times. For people like me that are neither day traders holding to positions only for a few minutes or hours, and are not buy and hold for years kinda traders either, Seymour's strategies work best in the "near term" (neither short nor long term). So go subscribe to Rapid Recap RSS feeds from Seymour and make some easy money !!

Disclaimer: Just FYI, I don't get any kickbacks or anything and have absolutely nothing to do with CNBC or any of the above mentioned people. Your actions are your responsibility. I claim no responsibility to any losses that you may incur whatsoever. Had to say it. Everyone does, don't know why they make a big deal of these disclaimers. Signing off with light shoulders..
